Welcome to Lucy’s Place; a safe, supportive space for you regardless of the severity or the nature of the difficulties you are experiencing. One in four of us will seek additional professional support for their emotional wellbeing at some point in our lives. I know from personal experience how difficult it can be to make that initial call or click for help. Decisions around the right time and place will vary depending on your personal circumstances. Lucy’s place offers a place for you. So whenever you feel the time is right for you to have a little extra support then Lucy’s Place is here for you in the way that fits your needs.

Choosing your therapist is an important decision so I have developed a place on these pages for you to explore some of the strategies, reading and resources that I would recommend to people. It will hopefully give you a sense of me, my values and the approach I work and live by. You may also find some guidance. advice and techniques that help you make a sufficient shift in your mood. For some of you this may be all you need. This area of Lucy’s place is open to you at any time you need. If you find anything particularly useful or have any questions please drop me an email. Personalised Recovery Plan

If you feel you would like to have a more personalised form of individual therapy or supportive counselling at Lucy’s Place then I would love to hear from you. Please email me to arrange a suitable time to meet. I offer a free 30 minute chat either online or by telephone to all prospective clients. If you chose to embark on therapy with me, then the first few times we meet we will spend time getting to know one another and working towards a joint understanding of the nature of the problem, cause of any difficulties and the cycles that may be maintaining those issues. We will then be able to agree a personalised recovery plan tailored to you. This plan will adopt one or a combination of the evidence based approaches that I am trained to use therapeutically. I will also make sure that we agree a planned number of sessions, because I don’t believe anyone wants to embark on a journey without an idea of how long it make take. We will regularly review this plan throughout our work together.

We also need to be mindful of the financial position some people are facing currently. I recognise that finances can be a further barrier to seeking help. This is the reason Lucy’s place was established as a Community Interest Company. This allows us to offer a limited amount of fee assistance to those that may require it. Please discuss this in your initial consultation if you would like to be considered for this form of financial assistance.
