Self Compassion
The tradtional teaching is always to treat others as you would also wish to be treated. In my experience I find that most people are able to be kind, wonderful friends to others but are less comfortable being kind to themselves. We tend to spend time looking outwardly and trying to help others. When we feel low it is harder to be self compassionate.
Its important to spend some time each day doing a compassionate exercise. It might be reminding yourself what your best friend might say to you in this situation. It might be going for a mindful walk, having a bubble bath or spending time in nature. Do something today that makes you feel good.
